Management - Personal - Learnings
Our Requirements
Must provide a
certificate of attendance to each attendee.
Must have regular
evaluation of course content to monitor the quality of the material and
ensure it meets current industry standards.
Responsible for
verifying the qualifications of individual instructors and monitoring
their continued effectiveness in
the delivery of the material.
Responsible for
having and maintaining attendance registers for RIBO verification.
Cannot provide a
certificate unless the individual attended the entire course/seminar.
Course/Seminar Requirements
Must fall within the
definitions of Management, Technical and
Personal Skills as outlined in the Accreditation Agreement.
Management:
The content of the course will include subjects related to the RIBO Act
and Regulations, human resources, general management, accounting,
computerization, and generally, will include topics relevant to the
operation of an insurance brokerage.
Technical: The content of the course will
include subjects directed towards imparting of general insurance
product knowledge and/or technical insurance expertise.
Personal Skills:
(Not eligible for Continuing Education Credits for Principal Brokers or
Deputies).
The content of the
course will include subjects related to skills required to function
efficiently in an insurance brokerage office, as a customer service
representative or as a producer. Subjects would include, but not
limited to, sales and marketing skills, and communication and writing
skills.
Must have a
classroom time of one (1) hour or more to be eligible for accreditation.
Must be presented by
a qualified instructor, leader, or lecturer.
Broker Requirements
Principal Brokers
and Deputies are required to complete a minimum of 10 hours
participation, every year between October 1st and September 30th. At
least 5 hours must be in the Management category.
All other licensed
individuals are required
to complete 8 hours of credit every year between October 1st and
September 30th in any category.
